The Blood Transfusion Department currently has a staff of 18, including 2 Ph.D. holders, 1 master's degree holder, and 13 with bachelor's degrees. The team comprises professionals in medicine, technology, and nursing, with 4 holding senior titles, 4 holding intermediate titles, and 10 holding junior titles.
The department is equipped with specialized facilities such as a blood compatibility testing room, blood storage room, blood distribution room, leukoreduction room, and transfusion treatment room. It is also furnished with advanced equipment, including automated blood typing and crossmatching analyzers, thromboelastography machines, solid-phase plate centrifuges, gel card centrifuges, blood cell separators, -80°C freezers, and various blood storage refrigerators. The department currently offers a range of clinical transfusion-related tests, such as ABO forward and reverse typing, RhD forward typing, irregular antibody screening, crossmatching, platelet antibody detection, platelet typing, and thromboelastography.
The services provided by the Blood Transfusion Department include:
① Offering 24-hour clinical blood transfusion services;
② Conducting pre-transfusion compatibility testing;
③ Participating in multidisciplinary discussions on complex cases and providing clinical consultations for transfusion cases;
④ Performing perioperative autologous blood transfusion;
⑤ Guiding and supervising the scientific and rational use of blood in clinical practice;
⑥ Conducting stem cell collection, abnormal cell removal, and plasma exchange.
The Blood Transfusion Department has evolved into a specialized clinical transfusion unit that integrates multiple functions, including clinical blood storage and supply, blood usage management, transfusion testing, and transfusion therapy.
